When purchasing a diesel generator set, you must first clarify your application requirements and select the product that best suits your needs. Requirements can be analyzed from the following aspects:
       1. Prime or standby use  

If it is used as a fire-fighting standby power supply, the range of options is quite broad. In general, domestic first-tier brands such as Yuchai, Shangchai, and Weichai are sufficient. Even second-tier domestic diesel engine brands are adequate, because the utilization rate is very low. As long as routine maintenance is properly carried out and the unit can start and supply power in an emergency, it will meet the requirement. Under this condition, pairing it with our Henghua all-copper brushless alternator is sufficient. As a standby power source, you should also confirm whether the building already includes an ATS dual-power transfer switch. If not, it needs to be purchased separately.

If it is used as a prime power source, then brands above domestic first-tier level should be selected, with Cummins, Volvo, and MTU as preferred choices. These brands offer long continuous operating hours, high stability, and lower fuel consumption, which can significantly reduce power generation costs for long-term use. In this case, genuine alternators from brands such as Wuxi Stamford and Deko are preferred.

2. Noise requirements

If there is an equipment room and the operating environment does not have high noise requirements, a standard open-type unit is sufficient. If there is no equipment room, a weatherproof unit is recommended.

If the operating environment has high noise requirements, a silent-type unit should be selected.

3. Mobility requirements
If the unit needs to be moved frequently and the moving distance is not long, a mobile trailer-type unit will be sufficient.

If it frequently needs to be relocated over a wide area and there are certain requirements for travel speed, a mobile power vehicle is the preferred choice.
